New ID rules in our stores
At Heat & Brew, we aim to lead by example, including when it comes to age verification. Some of our products are intended exclusively for adult consumers. We are therefore introducing mandatory age verification for the purchase of these products. In line with Philip Morris International’s internal guidelines, we are now taking an additional step. We do this because we want to lead the way. We believe that by requiring age verification for all customers, we can inspire a culture to adopt similar practice across the retail sector. In many other countries, customers are required to show ID when purchasing age-restricted products such as alcohol, regardless of how old they appear. We would like to contribute to making this approach more common in Denmark as well. That is why we choose to lead by example. Under current Danish rules, ID is only requested when there is uncertainty as to whether a customer meets the minimum age requirement. Our new procedure is therefore not the result of a change in legislation, but a voluntary initiative aimed at promoting a more consistent approach to the sale and purchase of tobacco and nicotine products.
